Life Reflections & The Start of Many More
Here’s are life reflections on nutrition and well being hope my experiences help you as much as they did for me!
Growing up, I didn’t like food much; I only ate “mirliton squash,” a tropical fruit shaped like a pear, with green skin and white flesh. Why? Because I believed everything else to be unhealthy or fat. It was the only thing that I ate for 6 months. I even thought myself to be healthful. But after so many squash soups, my mother grew worried. She took me to a nutritionist, and after meeting the lovely doctor with beautiful skin, I learned that there was more to food than I imagined.
A personal challenge
I felt relieved to know that not all food is wrong and that fat is essential too. The main thing is to find balance in your diet, coupled with an active lifestyle. After that, the lovely doctor invited me to do the first of many life reflections. She told me to give all kinds of food a second chance she challenged me to try everything again, even the things that I knew I didn’t like. I admit the lunch I had immediately after was a plate of french fries with yellow cheese! But for the first time in a long time, I appreciated the taste.
After my first appointment, I was in awe. I remember trying everything. Finally, I wasn’t afraid of food anymore! I even told myself that I’d return when I had more time, or when I had more money. But after a couple of months of living a healthful lifestyle, I gave up on what the lovely doctor suggested. Maybe it was out of laziness, or perhaps it was the fear of the change.
After years of ignoring the idea, memories of the lovely doctor came back to me right before I was to start college. I even considered studying nutrition as a college degree. I eventually decided to focus on something practical. Maybe at the time, my ambitions were higher than any desire for inner fulfillment. But promised myself that I would follow my passions later on in life when I had the time and more money. But I learned quickly that sometimes the things we resist the most are the ones we are born with.
Time for action!
Recently, my life reflections have brought more awareness to what I was born to do. Its time to do away with daily habits that hurt our bodies and unfair careers that traumatize us. I began to incorporate a new lifestyle and even earned a yoga instructor’s certification in the past year. My mission is to contribute in some way to the happiness and freedom of my friends and family. I believe that people are most successful with comfort in their bodies and ease in their minds. It’s like a foundation for a wealthy life.
Life is too short to worry about time and money; I find that when my body feels comfortable, I can think clearly and make better connections. This year, begin your journey to self-care. Because when we do more of what we love, we feel good. When we feel good, we attract good. I dare you to watch your life improve, go live your best experience! 😉
